It's that time of year. Traditionally, many put in boats on Memoral Day. We chose to put ours in the week after for three reasons...
1) It's less crowded at the public landing.
2) The lake is a bit warmer.
3) We could not get off work on Memorial Day Weekend.
The lake is a bit warmer, but not warm. We did not have a thermometer in the lake, but judging from the frequency and duration of screams from swimmers, we'd say the water temperature was about 62 F.
It's been a wet Spring, but this week was rain free. The water went from the low 60s to the low 70s by week's end. Swimmers, divers and skiers came out of the lake with only a hint of a bluish hue by the time we had to leave. The air temperature has been in the upper 70s all week. A better start to the Summer we can not imagine. We'll be back in a week.
