The highs were in the 60's, the lows in the 30's, and color is starting to come out in the trees. There are still mostly green but yellow, red and brown are there. Watching the hill across the lake change is one of our favorite things.
To really see how the Fall colors are progressing, you have to go to the firetower at Sugarbush Hill. And climb it.
The water is colder, but not un-swimable. That being said, we did not choose to swim. You'd think we would have. The ice is only about two and a half or three months away. This would be our last time to make a splash this year without dying of hypotherma or something. Reflecting on this weekend's dryness gives us pause. Should we have found the time to dip a few toes into the lake? No. While not un-swimable, it was still pretty cold.
-Nemo, warm, dry, and a little out of breath from the tower climb.
