The Weekend After the 4th of July
July 6th through 8th
The radar images were misinterpreted.  We got hit with another two plus inches of rain.  That's almost six inches for the week.  Not bad.  Not bad at all.
Clouds started to gather and grow Friday evening.  Radar images suggested that most of the storms would miss the lake.
The watershed run-off kept pushing the lake level up on Saturday and Sunday.  Our lower pier went underwater late Saturday.  The pier was not raised for fear that we would jinx it and get no more rain for the rest of the month.
There's flowing water in the creek!
The lake went up only 5 inches.  The hot weather stole an inch or so during the week.
Another gin and tonic night was held at the bar on Saturday.  This Saturday's gin was better than last week's.  Last Saturday's gin turned out to be vodka.
The lake temperature soared to 85 F during the week, but settled to 80 F on Saturday and Sunday. I can't recall a time when swimming and diving were more pleasant.
Area plants continue to enjoy the hot, wet weather.

Rain, we need more but the lake is going up fast with the amount we got.  If this keeps up we'll be back over the nail by Labor Day.  There seemed to be more boats on the lake this weekend than anytime this summer.  The up tick in watercraft could be due to the 4th of July holiday. We'll see if the lake traffic backs down to normal next weekend.
