Second August Weekend

Next »

August 8th through 12th, 2007

The weather early in the weekend was great with a little, very little, rain on Saturday morning. Signs of fall are popping up around the lake. The crabapples are ripe and ready for whatever one does with crabapples. The water level is low and getting lower. It's at 19 inches below the nail, a new record since the nail was instantiated in 2001. We need rain. I've been looking into getting the SDK for the webcam to get it back live. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, it is performing well and seems to be healthy. The O'Keefe Triathlon was held on an overcast and wet Saturday. The contestants first swam 0.5 miles across the lake. Then ran about 5 k around the top half of the lake. Then got on bikes to ride around the lake (8.9 miles). Such a display of fitness always amazes me. Denis won with a time of 59 minutes and 28 seconds. He was followed by Stu, then Joey, and Eric came in 4th place. Summer's end is getting close. The water, while low, is still very warm. The air in the morning has a touch of fall in it but the days are still hot. Best to get all the skiing you can in while the weather holds and the boats still come off the lifts.

-Nemo
