Mid-Point of Summer Weekend

Next »

July 13th through 18th, 2010

The long weekend started out rough and then the rain came. Huzzah!. By Thursday morning the sun was out, the sky was blue and the ground was wet. The lake got about 1.3 inches. We need more but Huzzah! Did I mention the blue sky and the sun? The warm weather, flat lake and sun sent spirits soaring and kneeboards. and skis The first Rafto! of the year was played. There were few injuries during the low scoring defensive struggle. The fish we saw diving seem to still be very active but there are fewer of them than a few weeks ago as seen here. Lucerne's temperature is pushing 80°F and is as clear as ever. It's also rising. I'll be sure to get a lake level measurement next weekend. The webcam is working well. A little to well it turns out. We were close to installing some new equipment that will expand the wi-fi bubble on the north end of the lake to 1 mile, but some of the terminology that the new stuff uses is not the same as the old machines and we did not want to risk messing up the webcam live view. Maybe next weekend. What great weather so far this summer. Hot, wet and sunny with just a hint of double bogey.

-Nemo swims during the rain.

P.S. On the way home Sunday, we missed the tornado in Sheboygan county by fewer than 5 miles. This SUV and its trailer did not. Mrs Nemo snapped this picture as we passed and some shaken, but unhurt, people were being checked out by EMTs.
