On Friday night as the sun set, the sky cleared and the temperature dropped. It was well under 32°F by morning.
The sun creeked back into the sky Saturday burning off the steam covering the lake.
Frost!

Peak color has come to the northwoods.
The slightest breeze would bring down leaves like so many giant multi-colored snowflakes. The sound it makes reminds me of small creatures scurrying around the ground.
Plenty of rain last weekend did not bring the lake up much. More is predicted all this week. It should help. We saw several large bass swimming in the shallows. They'll go deeper as soon as the lake "turns over" in the next few weeks.
