Long Tall Shadows With Snow Up To Y'are

Early last week, it was looking very Spring-y. We had rain, fog, and lawn.

By mid-week, it was looking like early Winter again.

Potawatomi Trail started off the week snow and ice free. By mid-week, it had its winter coating back.

Stamped into the fresh-ish snow along the side of the road was turkey sign. These refugees from Thanksgiving (or the Cranberry-Entree War of 2014 as the big birds refer to it) are easier to spot in the woods when there is snow. We did not see any.

By Friday, the fog was long gone and the snow/wind had stopped. We flew the South end of the lake.

Mrs Nemo "planted" one of the last flowers of the year in the snow between the islands and the public boat landing.

Sugarloaf's shadow covered more area than the island.

It was good to see that the lake has filled in those swampy areas behind the islands again.

Lake Lucerne's water level rise (over 2 feet in two years) looks like it might be high enough for Eddie and Gregg to shoot the gap between Cleopatra and Antony next year.

At night, Crandon is in full Holiday light. Displays range from "meh" to excellent (as seen here) to full Tom Perry.

Nobody has a better show or higher electric bill than Tom Perry.

Be sure to look up as you travel Tom's path of light.

Getting warmer it ain't. The ice is about 10 inches thick and there is anywhere from 1 to 4 inches of snow on the lake and lawns. It's supposed to start snowing soon and not end until after Christmas. This early arrival of the Second Horseman of the Snowpocalypse (January) will assure that the snow will be deep, the skiing plentiful, and clear roads just a remnant of your imagination by New Year's day.
