Last Lawn Mowing Weekend
November 4th through 6th
On Friday, we spent more time than planned at work creating computer bric-a-brac and discovering new limits of an old complier.  In June, we would have had time for a quick 9 holes when we arrived.  The darkness underscored that the current month is November.  A really big fire was called for to fight back the cold and dark.
The lake got a wanting amount of rain over the past 2 weeks.  Please sir, I want more.
The winds proved stronger than some of the trees on the Nicolet golf course.
High winds from the South made for heavy seas that crashed on the rocks of the North end.
A lone eagle was observed haunting north shore rabbits, squirrels and other meaty creatures for much of the weekend.
The NCC boasted some of the first ice of the season.  The pond next to the 18th tee was about 25% covered with a very thin layer of Winter on late Saturday.

Waves added to the other perils (freezing water, high fuel prices, no boat) of skiing on the north end of the lake this weekend.  No one skied. No one swam either. Diving was right out.  It looks like most, if not all, of the piers are also out. We tried to get a lake level measurement but the wave action would have made any number +/- a foot or more.  We'll get a final level number during deer hunting.
