The Last Weekend in August
August 24th through 27th
It rained.  Some evaporated from the gauge before this picture.  If rain were a crime, this would be considered a misdemeanor.  Really a traffic ticket that could have been talked down to a warning.  It's been a dry August.  The lake is almost back down to Spring levels.  We need much more rain.
The eagle continues to hunt the parched north end of the lake.
Not much later, the north side of the deck creaked under the weight of Jaba the Toad as he plopped down and feasted on bugs.  I guess that not everyone is bothered by the thick amount of insects this year.
The ISS cut through Cassiopeia at 9:20 PM on a cool, clear Thursday night.
There are still fish, lots and lots of fish, on the cribs.
The Lake is still a comfortable temperature (74℉), so much time was spent in/under the water
There are also swarms of fish under rafts
A few golfballs are also on the cribs.

Despite a tenth of an inch of rain, the lake fell about an inch last week.  It also dropped about 3℉.  Still swimmable, but getting close to brrr.  More color can be seen in the trees on the way to Crandon.  Over the last few weeks the patches of red and gold leaves were dismissed as the product of stressed trees but with September just days away that argument holds less and less water, sort of like the lake.
