The Last Weekend in January
January 28th through 30
It snowed all day.  The 6 to 8 inches of fresh powder sapped our strength after 30 runs.   While moving our tired (but unbroken!) bones back from the slopes, we bumped into SSJ and wife.  Small world.  With lots of snow.
We made it to the lifts of Brule just as the massive grooming tractors were leaving the runs.
Snow.  We wanted it to bring up the lake level.  We got it.  Not in one or two big events, but in a slow and steady flow of white from the sky.
It's pushing 20 inches on our deck.  The lake has about 8 inches with much deeper drifts on the edges.
It took awhile to get through.
The ice was checked on Sunday.
With the thick ice and all the snow and clouds, it's pretty dim looking up from under the ice.
We are pushing 20 inches of good ice on the lake.

The 20th Annual Lake Lucerne Bottle Rocket War is just days away.  Email me if you plan to join in the fun on the night of February 5th (Saturday) at 7:00 PM.  The bar will be opened for both spectators and participants afterward (think 9:00-ish).
