First Weekend in June
June 5th through 7th
Cool.  Unseasonably cool.  If the rain would have come earlier in the morning on Saturday there may have been flurries.  Except for the green, it looks and feels autumnal in the northwoods.  According to Accuweather, there's a growing chance that this might be another "Year without a Summer". On the bright side there is no snow forecast next week.  If this cold continues, I'll try to get the 2009 ice-in contest up by July. Before noon on Saturday the rain was west of the lake and the sun was still poking through the growing gloom.  Golf was out of the question with some "King" shootout eating up all the tee times til noon, so the only thing left to do was to cut laminate and build counter tops.
I'm told that over 2 inches have fallen since Sunday morning with more predicted mid-week.
The lite rain that started Saturday added up to only about 0.5 inches by Sunday morning.  More, much more, came Sunday and Monday.

Normally rain during the weekend is a bummer, but the lake and area needed it so badly all were grateful.  We'll be back next weekend to carve pumpkins or check the ice depth.  No.  Wait.  The calender claims it's June.  I don't think the ice will be back until July at the earliest.
