Opening Day (of fishing) Weekend
May 1st through 3rd
Sunlight was dancing on the lake's surface during the early evening on Friday.  The lake was blessed with a few small sunshowers until the sun went down.
The streams feeding into Lake Lucerne continue to be full and flowing.
The once fully exposed rocks on the north end are continuing to submerge.  The lake seems to be up about 6 inches this spring.  I'll get  a more exact number with respect to the nail next weekend.
While the bar still does not have water, it does still have a gas line, phone, and a lovely new trench down to the top part of the water line.  Water next week?  Signs point to yes.
The ground is really greening up.  The trees, not so much.  No trillium were sighted all weekend.

With the exception of the trees and the trillium, the northwoods seem to be fully awake.  There were plenty of ducks and other birds flying around all weekend.  A very loud loon began calling just after sunset on Saturday.  Earlier, while walking up to a so-so drive on the 9th hole at Nicolet, a doe and 2 fawns wandered onto the hole just a few yards from my ball..  They stood and watched me walk up to the next shot for longer than I thought they would.  There are a few pontoon boats, piers, and fishing boats in.  Didn't see one skier all weekend.
