| Saturday marked the end of tree squeezing season. Spiles were pulled... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On Friday, a flock of geese took a break on the north end of the lake. The best thing was the way they waddled back into formation before they took off (strange but true!) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Buckets were collected... | and washed... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The last sap of the season was added to the cookers... | and the last batch was brought down to syrup and canned. It was a very good year for maple syrup. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The webcam was checked to be sure that all can watch ice-out. If the lake gets the 20 inches or so of snow now predicted, ice-out could be pushed back a few days and the lake level pushed up a few inches. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It started raining late Saturday night after a bar night that featured the safety of friends and pool, not the perils of cigars, dice, and absinthe. Well, there was a bit of peril. The precipitation has since changed state, but has yet to end. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Rain or snow is predicted almost everyday for the next 10 days. In 2003-2004 we gained 20+ inches of lake level with just such a spring. It's time to wave bye to the 5 year old drought and welcome a new, more cloudy, moister era. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
