Skiing Weekend II
January 2nd through 4th
Work induced lateness had us arriving late on Friday.  On Saturday morning, we were up with the sun and off to Ski Brule to ride the lifts.  There was some skiing too. Wheee!
On Sunday, the ice thickness was checked.  Mrs. Nemo had the honor of drilling the hole.
Wheee!
10.5 inches of the good stuff.  More than enough to support a bottle rocket fort.
There is quite a bit of snow just about everywhere.
We drove the west shore slowly just be sure that a fidgety  tapper hasn't tried to get a jump on the season.
The sugar shack is packed full of wood.  No trees were tapped this weekend (that I saw).

The sun came out just after noon on Sunday. There is only about 3 or 4 more weeks of the really bitterly cold stuff left.  Since November, when asked in rhetorical fashion "How are you" I've responded with one word: "Cold".  It can't warm up fast enough for me.  We'll be back in 3 weeks for the 18th annual Lake Lucerne Bottle Rocket War.  On the way home, the radio was tuned to a delightful wildcard game between the Eagles and the Vikings (Wheee!).
