Saturday morning was one of those cold ones that we've come to expect the last few weeks. It started out at around 5°F and peaked around 20°F.
LT took time on Friday to build a monument to the bottle rocket forts destroyed a few weeks ago by al-kida. Constructed with pieces of his ice fort, it was about 6 feet tall.
The webcam has performed well during the past cold snap, running at times well below it's low operating temperature of -4°F.
After skiing at Brule, a hole was drilled in the lake and the ice measured. There was 19 inches of good ice. I'll have the annual ice-out contest up next week.
We'll be back in a few weeks to check the snow and ice depth. We really need much more snow to bring the lake level back to normal.
