| Memorial Day Weekend May 26th through 29th |

| The weather all weekend was unusually hot. A strong wind from the south produced much chop on Saturday. Sunday and Monday were a little calmer. |
| On Sunday night we had a "Dragon Fire". A hollow log was placed on end and filled with birch bark. An oxygen starved fire is lit at the bottom. The hot uncombusted gases pouring out of the top eventually ignite and form a fireball. |
| After cracks burn through the log, it becomes a big candle. |
| As the sliver of a moon set the biting insects came out. Everyone left to find enclosed, bug free spaces. |
| The lake level has come up 4 inches in the last few weeks. The 65 F crystal clear water is now 2 inches above the nail. |
| During the weekend fish were caught, golf was played both badly and well, water was skied & footed, and rafts were tipped. Throughout the entire time, energy drinks were consumed and sleep avoided. |
| We hit the road just before sunset on Monday night. With the water level rising and the air temperature hot, it feels like it's going to be a great summer! |
