| The temperature was 10 F as the sun rose over the eastern shore. |
| The mercury climbed to a balmy 15 F as we started to construct the first fort. |
| Two hours later the forms were pulled away and we had a fort. |
| The sun doesn't stay up in the sky long up here. |
| The lack of much snow turned out to have it's advantages. Walking around was not like trudging through deep snow. |
| The ice window shields on the top of our fort were deemed so innovative and terrifying that Krispa, upon hearing of their existance, chose not to join us this year and needed to change his pants. |
| As the ice froze we had a bit of tectonic activity on the north end. This thrust fault, on the Krispadreous plate boundry, rose to an impressive 13.4 inches. We are currently gathering supplies and sherpas to mount an expedition to the summit sometime in the next few months., |
