Lift Out Sunday
October 10th
Sunday, October 10th: the plan was to remove the pontoon boat and lift from the frigid waters of Lake Lucerne during a one day road trip.
Removing the pontoon boat was a pain, it always is, but the lift came out with only lite casualties.
Peak color may have been last week, but there was still color in the trees.
Plenty of golds and reds were all around the lake.
After the lift was detached from the lake we rested for a few minutes and took in the view from the dock.
The fish were active despite the 58 F water temperature.  It's time for the big brown trout to come into the shallows. We saw a huge fish jump but could not identify the species.

We left around 3:00 PM for golf and home.  There was talk among the men of calling in sick Monday and staying another day but responsibiliy won out over paradise and we headed out.  With low temperatures predicted to be 19 F by next Saturday it's time to bring in the brass monkeys and say bye to Fall.
