Fishing Weekend
June 6th through 9th
The clouds thickened and the air was very still Friday morning.  This turned out to be a clear harbinger for things to come.
Rain!  It started early Friday afternoon and ended Monday morning varying from a thin mist to a downpour.  Some residents were overheard saying that the area needed it.  This may be, but the deluge put a damper on many weekend plans.
The rafto season opened and the water was judged to be cold by all the contenders.
The only spector for the first rafto game was not there to view the subtle nuances of preseason rafto but rather to peck  holes in trees and look for bugs.
I said it last year and I'll say it again...Ferns!
The skies cleared and the temperatures rose to the high 60's on Monday.
Some had already arrived to view the second rafto game on Monday when it was canceled due to the low water temperature and lack of interest.
The gathered showed there disapproval by hooting and eating fish.
On the way home at the intersection of 52 and 32 outside Wabeno Mrs. Nemo spotted a bear and cub.  I unpacked and readied the camera in record time and managed this picture.
The weather is predicted to be better next weekend and the water should be warmer too.
