Spring Weekend

March 15th through 18th, 2002

Lake Lucerne
It was called Spring Weekend but there was little sign of spring...
Lake Lucerne
Meg had the honor of drilling the first hole to see the ice depth. It took longer than expected due to the 24 inches of very good ice.
Lake Lucerne
Nemo, in a fit of nostalgia, demands a hole be spuded "Like our ancestors did".
Lake Lucerne
A site was found along with the ancient ice spud...
Lake Lucerne
and a good old fashioned hole spuding was attempted
Lake Lucerne
It took both xxLt and Nemo (spud boys?) about 15 minutes to create the hole.
Lake Lucerne
Huzzah!
Lake Lucerne
Jeff's fort was the only surviving one from the bottle rocket war.
Lake Lucerne
Jeff's fort was the only surviving one from the bottle rocket war.
Lake Lucerne
It mysteriously collapses on Sunday!
Lake Lucerne
xxLt urgently calls us out of the cabin to see the inexplicable ruins after he puts away the ATV. What could have caused such destruction? Gravitic flux? Anti- matter? We may never know.
Lake Lucerne
We did much hiking. In one trip, to little Ron's cabin.
Lake Lucerne
The snow was quite deep at times.
Lake Lucerne
We were only saved by our snowshoes.
Lake Lucerne
The drifting was extremely impressive in some spots.
Lake Lucerne
The drifts next the the garge formed a sort of tunnel.
Lake Lucerne
No one who came up was brave/foolish enough to go splunking.
