Big Snow

March 3rd through 5th, 1989

Lake Lucerne
Some time ago, we had planned to come up to the lake this weekend. Some predicted snow was not going to deter us from that goal. It turned out to be the biggest snowstorm, for March, in Green Bay's history. It was cold too.

By Saturday, most of the roads were in somewhat of a plowed state. It was time to explore the newly created Winter wonderland.

The new 14+ inches of snow made it hard to discern the shoreline.

Nobody was renting any of the cabins at Timber Shores.

There's lots of new, quality snow in the northwoods. With the lake level falling, this is a good thing. Driving through it is many things, but good would not decribe any of them except for finally getting here. We'll be back up again in April. Between now and then there's work to be done but first we have to drive back to Milwaukee. Let's hope the roads are cleared off enough to be visible so we'll not have to drive by sense of smell again.
