The boat was parked in about 30 feet of water in front of "Water's Edge".
We followed that anchor line to the bottom. The base of the lake here is soft and cold. As we headed west the water warmed and the bottom became more interesting.
Mrs Nemo dove with me and was in charge of the dive flag,
She did not pull it under once!
After about 50 meters, the bottom turned to sand peppered with rocks.
Mrs Nemo seemed to be happier with the rising water temperature than the boulder field.
Some of the larger rocks were covered in a fine green slime.
Old fish beds were found in the sand. This may be a good spot to fish in the spring.
The sand also held other items...
Pepsi - the litter choice for a new generation!
Clam! (see first rule of lake sand on dive #4)
Closer to shore we found some cribs.
There were few bait fish near it.
Inside there was a nice size smallmouth bass.
We surfaced near the shore about 250 meters from where we started. There was nobody in the boat to get us so we had to get the boat.
Swimming back to the boat turned out to be the worst thing about the dive. Return to the Dive Page Return to knottlane
