Our plan was to pull the raft and pier from the icy waters of Lake Lucerne during the opening weekend of deer hunting.

Nature's plan was to freeze the lake before deer hunting, making raft retrival extra special fun. The final plan now includes ice spuds, ropes, dry suits, wet suits, cursing and hats.

Knott Lane has a Christmas-y cheer and perfidious-y purchase.

Other roads around the lake are in a bit better condition.

Cold. Not the cool that normally partners with deer hunting, but the cold usually seen in January. January is two long months away. Time to check the propane level and throw another blanket on the bed. Or is it? Mrs Nemo and I have been attending the Knottlane convention and pool party in fabulous Las Vegas during the last several weeks. All the information in the past few updates has been based on reports and pictures we got while sipping mimosas at the pool. Those reports and images could have been faked and photoshopped to support some sort of frosty conspiracy. We'll be up in a few days to confirm or deny this crime against rafts and piers still in the lake. We'll bring a hat just in case it's true.
