Pumpkin Carving Weekend
October 23rd through 25th
Snow.  We were greeted by snow and cold on Saturday.  Snow is not unusual for this time of year, it's just not appreciated.
"When the northwoods gives you a tiny snow, put on a hat and make a tiny snowman."
-Mrs Nemo
The pumpkins were carved by Saturday's sunset. The finished, candled product was testament to the skill and technology acquired over the years by the carvers.  This image does not do them justice (should have used a cable release and a better depth of focus).
On Sunday morning, large, stump burning, yard fires were still smoldering and the weather was warmer.
About 1.7 inches of rain last week.  We need more but that was a good.  It was raining on Sunday when we left.

Lawns on the north end of the lake really needed a final mowing this weekend, but the damp weather put the kibosh on that.  Deer hunting is just weeks away and the downhill skiing season just after that.  Yay.
