The Week Before Labor Day

August 28th through September 7th, 2009

Lake Lucerne
Rain! The end of August had rain! Over an inch!
Lake Lucerne
The lake level returned to mid-August levels. Boats came off lifts again, but I was hoping for the lake levels we enjoyed in July.
Lake Lucerne
The duck infestation that has plagued the north end of the lake is getting smaller in count and larger in size.
Lake Lucerne
The fish are still active. Many small, nervous fish were populating the old "mine" cribs on the north end of the lake.
Lake Lucerne
Just when the pitchforks and torches were about to come out, a house was re-yellowed. The surly mobs disbursed and calm again returned to the northwoods.
Lake Lucerne
The knottlane open went very well. The post golf party went even better (there was bacon, Bailey's comets, and cigars.) Thanks to all who participated, we hope to see you again next year!
Lake Lucerne
On Monday, we labored by taking the lifts out of the lake. It took 90 minutes, but felt like 90 hours.
Lake Lucerne
More than one tree is jumping the gun on peak color weekend (October 2nd, 3rd , and 4th).
Lake Lucerne
The boat landing isn't too bad but you should take it slow when removing your boat, lest ye leave parts of the boat behind (lower unit, parts of the prop). We need a very wet fall.
