| The Last Week in July July 24th through August 2nd |

| The ducks that overflowed from the woods and are now roosting on boat lifts did not seem to mind the cool weather. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This week was cold. Again. Is summer over? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The bad news was in the totals. We might have got almost 1 inch for the entire week. And that's generous. The lake level continues to fall. We could use a very large storm. Say a yard of rain or so. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There was some good news. It rained every day! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I have a vague memory of opening the bar on Friday the 31st. The bar night lasted well into Saturday. There was Bar Rail Bowling. We ran out of banana liqueur. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Young people took their first trip to the "Big Rock" on westshore drive. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ahh, the water temperature. It's cool. Cold. Think 65 F, but it feels colder. Some tried to deal with the iciness by enjoying activities that kept a buffer of warmish air (warm only when compared to the lake) between themselves and the water. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Others tried to increase the surface area of the lake in the hope that the air would warm the liquid or something. The lake remains very cold. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The weather does seem to be slowly improving with Sunday feeling more like mid-spring than late fall. I can't help but think though that there will be an early ice-in. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
