Friday had a characteristic that set it apart from almost all the days so far this year. It was warm. Not hot, but it was a start.

Friday evening had a great sunset and the air started to chill, but we're used to the cold air thing this spring.

Digging in the pit began early Saturday and the leak in the water line was found. The cracked joint that had supplied an outdoor faucet was removed and, in its stead, a $4.21 (including tax) brass cap was secured.

There were also exotic flaming shots between the pool, cigars, tales of brass glory, and absinthe.

There were even shots with, errr, unfortunate names. The "<a href='http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink788.html' class ='defaultlink2' target='_blank'>Alien Secretion</a>" was judged to be tasty by all and more rounds were called for. No aliens were harmed during secretion gathering.

There was a bit of rain on Friday night and Saturday morning which made outdoor plumbing all that more fun. Streams on the north end were still pushing water into the lake on Sunday.

The trillium are just starting to flower.

Some were fully open, but most were 1 or 2 days away.

The lake was described as cold by those who were brave enough to get into the water. The water temperature seems fine for loons. This guy was on the north end Sunday morning. He kept on turning over to stretch his back and legs. Several times it looked for the life of me like he was flipping us off. Beware the rude loon.

Golf on Friday and Sunday was good (no golf was played on Saturday due to rain/plumbing/<a href='http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink788.html' class ='defaultlink2' target='_blank'>Alien Secretions</a>). The course is in good shape and Callaway makes a very forgiving golf club.

The lake continues to rise. A measurement, taken on Sunday, showed the water to be 28 inches below the nail. That's lower than late last fall, but an estimated 4 inches higher than ice-out. We need more rain.<br><br><br>-Nemo
