July 26, 2002 The food, service and ample servings make the Log cabin one of the best and most crowded resturants in the northwoods. To avoid the wait to get a table get there early or in winter. We have never been disppointed by any of the menu items but I would be remiss if I did not mention the pancakes. They're huge. I don't want you to get the impression that they are just larger than the average pancake. One is larger than a stack of regular pancakes. Here are some pointers on how to approach the eating of these enormous breakfast entities. 1) When the ponderious plate arrives don't panic! The pancakes can sense fear and will attack at the slighest sign of weakness. 2) Set up a base camp near the edge of the plate by shifting the cakes, cutting and eating a small area free of debris. Don't be afraid of the syrup or butter but don't put on more than would be prudent. 3) Remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Set a steady pace and stay focused. In about 15 minutes you will see progress! At this point you may need to ask for another quart of syrup. Ask quickly so as not to cut into chewing time. 4) As you get close to the end be aware on the symtoms of pancake induced psychosis (the strong desire never to eat again, expanding waist, loginess, pancake based hallucinations). If you suspect pancake psychosis put down your fork and back slowly away from the plate. Seek medical attention or a stout hammock. Good luck. Nemo
Be sure to check out the special board if the pancakes scare you.
Mrs Nemo found the special quite tasty.
