| The Weekend After the 4th of July July 8th through 11th |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The sunset on Thursday was grand as was the air and water temperatures and the northwoods in general. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| An eagle was hunting the north end of the lake all weekend. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The gamefish, especially the smallmouth bass like this one, seemed extra active this weekend. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Panfish were leaving the lake as fast as anglers could bait a hook and drop a line. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Lake Lucerne was stunningly good for skiing also. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On the surface of the lake, the conditions were great for jumping wakes with kneeboards and taking poorly centered pictures. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Return to knottlane |

| Summer has clearly arrived. Unlike last year when summer slinked in, mumbled "Hi" and stuttered something about having to leave early, this summer has taken root and seems to have no plans to move on anytime soon. I like that in a summer. That and lots 'o rain. - Nemo wonders if anyone ever enjoyed a cigar while skiing. |
